Most Important Foods to Buy Organic

Last week the local IndyWeek newspaper article "How to spend your organic budget wisely" was so to the point and useful, I thought I'd share the link and some of the key suggestions. The article is worth the quick read.
Here's the link:

Bottom line is: "foods that have the largest amounts of pesticide and fertilizer residues when conventionally grown are: celery, peaches, strawberries, apples, blueberries, nectarines, bell peppers, spinach, cherries, kale/collard greens, potatoes and imported grapes. The recommendation is that consumers should definitely spend the extra money for organic versions of these foods."
And, "those foods that contain the least amount of chemical residues when grown conventionally are: onions, avocados, sweet corn, pineapples, mangoes, sweet peas, asparagus, kiwi, cabbage, eggplant, cantaloupe, watermelon, grapefruit, sweet potatoes and honeydew. It's okay to eat conventionally grown varieties of these foods."
